He’s stealing my breakfast…

Woody Wednesday!

Widows peak.
Hi ho, hi ho…

Just white.
So, I wanted to see if I could photograph something that lookslikewhite would find worthy of a reblog being that Ms. Trudy runs a very beautiful and very zen all white blog.  I wonder if I will succeed…

Downside Up.

An elephants skin is rough and is covered in deep ridges and hair that ranges from short tiny bristles to thicker, wiry strands. Their trunks are especially rough. But behind the ears, oh my. I have had the blessings of scratching and rubbing them there and it is as soft and warm as anything I have touched. It is part of the elephant magic I have come to know.

Have a happy Macro Monday!

Lady-Like Legs
“Darling, the legs aren’t so beautiful; I just know what to do with them.”
Marlene Dietrich
I was lucky to see this youngster taking a nap in South Africa.

One of the first things baby elephants have to master is where to put their little hose at recess.

Macro Monday: Yellow leggings

We continue to have visitors of the arachnid variety. We did a rescue with a soup bowl last night as clearly the circumference of the coffee mug was not enough to clear the legs! I have no idea if he is dangerous, but he is large and beautiful!
I am becoming obsessed with shooting barbed-wire fences and am starting a creative project featuring these little metal knots. Please drop by my njwightcloseup blog to take a look if you are curious…or not.

Heading back home to the snow today and my friends in the forest. Adios Panama!
Helloooo Gorgeous! The Crested Caracara-probably one of my favorite bird sightings of the Panama adventure. We left early one morning for a hike and drove around the bend and there he was, in the middle of the road. He very courteously flew up to a low branch when he saw my lens poke out of the window. Look at the size of those feet!

I went for a snowshoe Sunday and my old friend was up in his tree having a snooze. He is such a tiny little featherball that I generally shoot him closer, but I like the scale of this shot with him sitting out on the curve of the tree trunk.

Macro Monday: Almost Invisible…
(Would love to meet my new friend so if anyone can identify this Panamanian rainforest lovely, please let me know.)
…and this one too!
Seems some of you like the barbed-wire with critter photos. More barbed wire on my other blog…
